6 Unusual Ways I Use AI (Outside of Work)
Real examples beyond the obvious
I use AI a lot. Not just for work but also to run my entire life. From what to cook tonight to who made my clothes to the story behind my favorite songs. I’m chatting with AI all day long to help with everything — work to personal life.
Below are 6 of my most non-standard ways of using AI outside of work.
They’ll definitely save you cognitive energy and time.
1. Cooking. No need to search the internet — just Grok it, Gemini it, Claude it.

2. What to drink? Non-standard example. I made a reservation at the famous Keefer Bar in Vancouver and wanted to research their long cocktail menu beforehand so I wouldn’t waste time when I got there.

3. Stories behind songs. I love music and I’m always intrigued to know the story behind a song. So I run all my favorite songs through AI to learn how the song came into being and its deeper meaning.
This one happens to be my favorite.

4. Shopping. Chatbots are multimodal — they can analyze images, not just text. AI has been my shopping companion. All I do is click pictures and ask questions. Whether it’s a single product or an entire shelf.
AI recently helped me pick a great clean protein supplement.

5. Decision-making. AI is multimodal — it can see, hear, and read. I used Grok’s live AI that can see the environment in real time and answer questions based on what’s around me.
I asked it to help me decide what to eat at a place that served close to 50 ice cream flavors.

6. History deep dives. AI is a history nerd. Trained on all of humanity’s knowledge, it can tell you just about anything. I use it to learn about everything from the Mongol Empire to how Dubai got itself out of the financial crisis.

That’s it. If you’re interested in deep-diving into any of the above topics, I’m happy to share the link to the conversation.
I use Grok for all my non-work curiosity. I love Grok’s mobile experience and voice.

ICYMI: Yell at your AI. Yup, I’m serious. It performs better.

More on the science behind it.
I’ll share more of these out-of-work AI use cases to help you see how broadly you can apply them in your day-to-day life.
