Provincial deadlines
Community Initiatives Fund — October 1, 2026, 4:00 p.m. Saskatchewan’s workhorse community grant: up to $35,000 for local programs, up to $50,000 provincial. Saskatchewan Community Foundation — Forbes Foundation Fund — September 1, 2026. $5,000 to $50,000 for southern Saskatchewan, and rare in a specific way: it funds operations, not just projects, with explicit preference for local-level work. Federal — open all year
PrairiesCan Community Economic Development and Diversification (CEDD). The flagship federal fund for exactly this work — sustaining and growing local economies — with continuous intake and a two-stage process that starts with a short expression of interest. Farm Credit Canada Community Funding — rolling. Up to $10,000 per organization per year for community projects with an agricultural lens — a natural match for shared-kitchen equipment for farm-gate food businesses. Apply.

The Mosaic Company — the Esterhazy potash operator, 80 km down the road — runs rolling community investment grants under three pillars: food, water, and local community. The kitchen incubator and main-street work fit two of three. Community page.

TELUS Friendly Future Foundation — July 31 and October 2, 2026. Up to $20,000 for youth programs; the Manitoba & Saskatchewan board sits in the October round. Needs charity status or a qualified-donee partner. Apply.
What’s closed (so you can stop looking)
Co-op Community Spaces has ended. FCC AgriSpirit is closed until spring 2027. Affinity Credit Union’s 2026 grants are closed outside the North District. The Local Food Infrastructure Fund has no open intake. If your grants binder still lists them for this fall, cross them off.
