ACL: Legal Assistance Enhancement Program — closes August 25, 2026. $100,000–$250,000 cooperative agreements to strengthen legal help for older adults. The Phoenix stack

APS Community Impact Grants — open now through October 1, 2026. The electric utility’s annual community grants, with priority for under-resourced populations — and no funder understands why summer wellness checks matter like the power company does. One request per year. Details.

Thunderbirds Charities — opens August 1, due September 1, 2026, 5:00 p.m. MST. The Phoenix Open’s charitable arm, funding Maricopa and Pinal county nonprofits serving vulnerable residents. Decisions in early December. Apply.

RRF Foundation for Aging — letter of inquiry due November 2, 2026. A dedicated national aging funder. Direct-service grants are Illinois-only, but the knowledge-sharing stream is national — and an extreme-heat wellness-check model is exactly the kind of thing other hot-climate cities need documented and spread. Walmart Spark Good Local Grants (Cycle 3) — August 1 to November 30, 2026. $250–$5,000 per store request. Shuttle fuel, memory café supplies, water for heat-relief kits. Guidelines.

AARP Community Challenge closed in March — it opens each January, and it loves exactly this work. Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust’s deadline passed in June. Both are strong 2027 targets; twenty other candidates dropped as invitation-only or unverifiable.
