Top Youth Mental Health Grants in BC: July–December 2026

The big one — window opens August 1

BC Community Gaming Grants (Human and Social Services sector) — apply August 1 to November 30, 2026. Up to $125,000 a year for local organizations, up to $250,000 for regional ones, and the 2026 guidelines name your work explicitly: “mental health and counselling services (e.g., public education, outreach, substance use treatment, crisis services).” One application per calendar year, notification by February 28. If you apply for nothing else this fall, apply for this. Program page.

Deadlines through the fall

TELUS Friendly Future Foundation — July 31, then October 2, 2026. Up to $20,000 for grassroots health programs for youth up to 29 facing obstacles. The high-school peer-support training is the textbook application; confirm which round your BC community board accepts. Apply.

City of Surrey Community Grants — September 30, 2026. Up to $5,000 for one-time projects starting in 2027. Small, but it’s home-turf money for outreach events and new group-program launches — and city grants on your funding history make bigger funders comfortable. Details.

Vancouver Foundation Participatory Action Research Grants — opens September 2026. Convene grants up to $25,000; Investigate grants up to $100,000 a year for up to three years. Partner with UBC or SFU to evaluate your culturally safe family-navigation model — with community members paid as co-researchers. Evidence like that converts health-authority skeptics. Details.

First West Foundation (Envision Financial Community Endowment) — EOIs any time before December 1, 2026. Impact grants up to $25,000 for charities in Envision communities — Surrey is one — under the Good Health & Well-Being priority. Apply.

Expected this fall — set reminders

BC Civil Forfeiture Grants (crime prevention stream) — intake expected late fall 2026. Up to $40,000 per project for trauma-informed, culturally safe prevention work with youth facing multiple risk factors. The province’s page says to join their mailing list for the opening — do that today. Grants page.

BC Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Grants — expected October 2026. Up to $5,000, with priority for organizations led by or serving racialized communities — a fit for South Asian family mental-health navigation and anti-stigma work. Program page.

The one that got away (until May)

Bell Let’s Talk Community Fund — the single best-fit national fund for this work, up to $25,000 — closed its 2026 cycle in June. It reopens around May 2027. Put it on next year’s calendar now, because its window is short.

Fourteen more didn’t survive

Vancouver Foundation’s systems-change grants closed July 6, SurreyCares runs an April-only cycle, Pacific Blue Cross’s 2026 deadlines have passed, Vancity’s 2026 funds are fully allocated. If your grants calendar came from a directory, half of it is probably in this category.
