How does the proposal assessment work?

Paste your draft (300+ characters) and GrantOrb's AI reads it the way a funder's program officer would. The free grade shows your 0–100 score, a breakdown across the six criteria funders actually weigh — proven need, plan, measurable outcomes, credibility, budget, and believability — and two genuine strengths. The full assessment unlocks every fix our reviewer found, ranked by priority, with exactly what to add and where, plus anything missing entirely — and includes 2 re-grades of your revised draft, so you can fix, re-check, and submit knowing the score moved. One-time $49, no account needed. It takes about 30 seconds.

What's free, and what's paid?

The score is free — no signup, no card, 2 free grades per person: your 0–100 score, how a funder would score each of the six criteria, and what you're doing right. The fixes are the product: every gap our reviewer found, ranked, with exactly what to add — that's the one-time $49 assessment. Cheaper than a consultant's coffee budget, and it's back in 30 seconds, not next week.

What exactly is in the full assessment?

All five fixes our reviewer found, in priority order — each one names the gap a funder would flag and exactly what to add. Any required element that's missing entirely (a budget, an evaluation plan, sustainability). Everything the reviewer flagged beyond the top five. And 2 re-grades within 30 days: apply the fixes, paste the revised draft, and watch the score move before you submit. One-time $49, no account, no subscription. If you'd rather have the fixes applied for you, GrantOrb rewrites the proposal — that's what the plans are for.

Is my proposal stored or shared?

Your draft text is not stored — it's sent to the AI for grading only. We keep the grade report itself (score, strengths, fixes), tied to an anonymous fingerprint of the text, so you can unlock the full report or return to your grade later. Nothing is shared.

What score do I need before submitting?

85+ means submission-ready with minor polish. 70–84 means the core is solid with one or two real gaps — fix those first. Most honest first drafts land between 55 and 75, so don't be discouraged: a few targeted fixes usually move a draft 15+ points.
